How to add a plug-in to Wordpress
If you have a website and you’re running WordPress on it, chances are you’d like to put in plug-ins that can help you improve your site’s performance. There are also lots of tools that you can add to WordPress via the plug-in system to make it more interactive for your viewers.
Almost all WordPress plug-ins follow the same installation steps. However, each one of them has to be configured specifically for them to work as designed. Here are the general rules on how to install a WordPress plug-in:
1. Download the plug-in you’d like to install from its original source. (If you’re using 2.7 or higher follow the steps from #3)
2. Go to your website and log-in to the WordPress admin panel.
3. On the left side of the panel, click on Plug-ins.
5. Click on Add New.
6. Click on the Upload Tab.
7. Browse through the downloaded plug-in file in your computer.
8. Click on Install Now.
9. WordPress will begin install. After which, it would say installation complete.
10. Click on Activate Plug-in.
The WordPress plug-in is now installed. It should be ready for configuration. Consult with the specific tutorial regarding the plug-in you’ve downloaded to help you with that.
